Fall Trends from the Runway
Winter is here - and so is the trend report!
With the changing of seasons comes a change of fashion. As the weather becomes cooler (and the smell of pine, pumpkins and cinnamon creep up on us) we begin to put layers on instead of confusedly taking them off.
This season trends include a fun mix of big bold hair accessories (pearls on pearls on pearls!), earthy colour combos, and pearls on pearls!
With all these fresh looks it’s easier to let go of those easy breezy summer vibes and look forward to what those crisp winter days bring.
Classic Pearls
Pearls are as feminine and delicate as it gets, so it’s no surprise that they were a reoccurring theme in FAUN’s Autumn/Winter 2019-2020 Collection.
Pearls are elegant but sometimes considered old-fashioned, but this notion was debunked. In this runway collection, pearls were reinvented to be edgy, with handcrafted septum rings and bralettes.
Pearls can be dressed up or dressed down, think Carrie Bradshaw. This trend is seen in numerous ways through accessories to clothing itself, which is partly what makes it so fun. Pearls add an effortless glamour but can also be incorporated with new twists. With delicate pearl trims to full clothing pieces this adds texture and a reinvention to a classic piece. Pearls can be used in new unconventional ways such as using a strand as a belt or keep it simple with a simple necklace or chunky hair clip!
Pink and Green
The pink and green colour combination is so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing we’re surprised is isn’t already a thing! Red and green are complimentary colours, but evoke Christmas-vibes - this muted version delivers the same punch without looking like you’ve stepped out of an advent calendar.
These colours can be either a statement or easily incorporated into any look. They also do not need to be exclusively worn together. A head to toe look in pink or green is another fab fall look. With cooler weather coming this also means layers which allows you to mix these colours seamlessly with multiple pieces.
Animal Prints
Animal prints, especially cheetah, have made a huge resurgence in 2019. For this fall we decided to mix up the classic, warm toned print with a bright turquoise and purple details.
This classic print is fun to style and can be added to any wardrobe. From a casual look to all out glamourous a good animal print is effortless. You can add pops of the print with accessories or lead with a bolder look with a skirt or chunky sweater. We paired our colourful cheetah print with a crop top for a funkier look and to break up the print, we are clearly welcoming back layers for the Fall!
Hair Accessories
Hair clips and headbands made a huge resurgence this year. This fall the trend is bound to continue, but this time we’re mixing it up. Crystal tiaras were a huge part of the Fall/Winter 2020 runway collection, as well as real baby’s breath and gold wire antlers.
This trend is vast and offers an exciting new range of pieces to add to numerous looks! Both clips and headbands are great pieces dressed up or down and as elaborate, think big bold headbands, to subtle such as delicate hair clips. These accessories can also incorporate trending colours and pearls, making this even more so a fall staple.
